Conference Organization Component: Existing/New Development?? - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
dear experts,
i'm in 'web team' of conference held in 2009 university teach. i've been using joomla 2 months developing web non profit organization , i'm considering using joomla develop conference web. searched component able manage conferences no results.
at point i'm considering develop new module joomla. module should meet following requirements:
1.- define role conference members: authors, reviewers, track chairs, chairs
2.- upload abstracts/papers authors
3.- review, comment , qualify uploaded abstracts/papers reviewers/chairs
4.- track paper state: uploaded, reviewing, accepted, rejected, dropped.
5.- manage conference tracks
6.- assign papers tracks
7.- assign chairs tracks
8.- other capabilities define in more-in-depth module specification
my questions are:
1.- know existing module capabilities?
2.- if not; steps should follow build new module?
2a.- i'm experienced programmer, microcontrollers, vax11 ml, pascal, c, c++, vb, c#, etc. think there should not difficult learn php , joomla, it's matter of time, absolutely new me i'm lost @ point. there tutorial/manual learn how build simple module figure me out difficulty of proposal? i've downloaded manuals , api specifications web i'm still lost
2b.- objective module should accessible anyone, should do? freeware, gpl...? articles explaining how license it?
3.- should host it? sourceforge?
3a.- willing join development proposal/use module? figure out if 'problem' or other joomla users use module capabilities.
