Thread: Make USB bootable access denied.

i'm using usb drive install ubuntu. i'm following helpful tutorial , says make usb stick bootable, , need use fdisk set boot flag.

in terminal typed fdisk /dev/sdb1 -a came with:

fdisk: invalid option -- 'a'

usage: fdisk [-b ssz] [-u] disk change partition table
fdisk -l [-b ssz] [-u] disk list partition table(s)
fdisk -s partition give partition size(s) in blocks
fdisk -v give fdisk version
here disk /dev/hdb or /dev/sda
, partition /dev/hda7
-u: give start , end in sector (instead of cylinder) units
-b 2048: (for mo disks) use 2048-byte sectors
any please?

i did yesterday except did easy way using free software:

http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/

unetbootin makes bootable usb of not ubuntu installs other linux distros also. problem had linux version didn't work, had use windows one.
