Motor Size education... - Raspberry Pi Forums
so i'm handily confused types of motors our there.
have broken down dc motors(including gearmotors)
servo motors
stepper motors.
i'm confused following:
have project need move 20-30lbs including weight of vehicle. on wheels point point b. flat clear path. need travel @ maximum of 5mph maybe 6mph.
when read torque means nothing me. understand force @ 1 inch thing in reading 5oz-in need motor drive vehicle...probable 2 wheels , forth along track.
motor , range of torque should looking at?

always vexing problem. don't recommend follow trial , error approach or you'll end large box full of second hand motors in garage, none of ever suitable any project 1 reason or another.
reckon need gear motor of kind; , won't need lot of torque move mass on flat surface, drill motor (with gearbox) might it. advantage of drill motors can try before buy (if have drill).
sorry, wasn't it?
