Thread: Toshiba Volume Wheel = Probs

i've done search , can't find problem quite mine, apologies noob if has been covered ad nauseum.

i've installed 9.04 on toshiba u305-s5107.

problem - volume wheel causes volume indicator (top-right pop-up one, not on toolbar) flash , run , down. simple bump of wheel causes minute or so. volume ends muted , keyboard no longer works after this.

i've remapped volume controls key combination , no longer causes keyboard crash or volume icon flash, i'd use volume wheel.

xev returns stream of these messages when move wheel once:

keypress event, serial 35, synthetic no, window 0x4800001,
root 0xaa, subw 0x0, time 5806918, (-58,345), root616,396),
state 0x0, keycode 123 (keysym 0x1008ff13, xf86audioraisevolume), same_screen yes,
xlookupstring gives 0 bytes:
xmblookupstring gives 0 bytes:
xfilterevent returns: false

suggestions?

bump, guess.

installed ubuntu 10.04 on friend's toshiba laptop , having exact same problem. have fix this?

or, @ least, how remap volume controls, spinboldak did?

thanks

sumo
