Thread: Battery Reading Issue
i have been having odd problem battery in hp pavillion. has charging , discharging of battery.
reason, battery not charge past 69.5%. when reaches 69.5%, says charged, though when hover on battery icon, tells me 69.5% charged. when click battery device information reads:
product: laptop battery
status: charged
percentage charge: 69.5%
vendor: hewlett-packard
technology: lithium ion
serial number:
model: primary
capacity: 75.2% (fair)
current charge: 28.9 wh
last full charge: 66.8 wh
design charge: 88.8 wh
charge rate: 0.0
other issue when discharging, computer shuts down @ around 25% battery charge, , not boot again until plugged in. have tried charging battery , draining many times no results. appreciated.
thanks,
doggbat.
there 2 files can at:
one field says "last full capacity" or similarcode:cat /proc/acpi/battery/bat0/state cat /proc/apci/battery/bat0/info
, 1 gives total capacity.
battery has aged ,
value of "last full capacity" around
70% of total capacity.
there nothing can to
charge battery beyond point (anymore).
computer shouldn't shutdown when
capacity still 25% there might other
factors involved.
computer turn off or the
"low battery" power shutdown initiated?
gui shows remaining time - is
there suspicious remaining time?
e.g. remaining time far low 27% remaining
capacity (like 3 minutes)?
once messed around laptop had remaining
capacity of 30 minutes. readings battery
more or less useless ...
btw: lithium battery should suffer memory effects, so
running full charge-decharge cycles shouldn't have any
impact on capacity.
