Bullets, line spacing, templates, and vodka

in researching single-source layouts, discovered can generate word document includes drop-down text in topic. great news! can create expandable instruction lists , generate them directly word printed documentation.

so tested creating new project, creating drop-down hotspot contained bulleted instructions, , generating printed documentation included drop-down text. voila! came out fine in word.

so far, good. of course, want drop-down text have 1 appearance in online documentation , appearance in printed documentation. easy enough: can generate printed documentation, make changes in word, save word file template, , use template whenever need generate printed documentation.

so far, good! well, actually...not good. see, i'm encountering strange repeatable problem working word templates: first item in each expandable list (i.e., drop-down spot bullets in it) includes space before paragraph, , last item in each such list includes space @ bottom of paragraph. problem not manifest when generate printed documentation new project, nor when change style in word after first generating printed documentation. no, little critter shows after create template, save template, , use generate next round of printed documentation.

so, recap:

1. can create drop-down hotspots fine in robohelp.
2. can create bulleted lists fine in robohelp.
3. can generate printed documentation fine robohelp.
4. can format styles fine in word.
5. can save template fine word.
6. can select template fine when creating printed documentation in robohelp.
7. new printed documentation exhibits weird spacing before , after first , last items, respectively, in each bulleted drop-down list.

and here's kicker: according word, there no space added paragraph. space visible naked eye, it's apparent when triple-click troublesome item highlight paragraph, , shows right through when it's printed. word, however, insists spacing not there.

before usual array of suggestions is, well, suggested, let me point out following:

1. i'm not running robohelp across network.
2. project on hard drive.
3. using rh buttons create bulleted lists.
4. not applying list styles bulleted lists (i.e., style "normal").
5. have tested multiple times new projects.
6. using latest versions of word and robohelp.

now can work around problem: can create template without drop-down style defined, , can edit style each time generate printed documentation; i'm not having problems other styles, i'm fine otherwise. i'd know (a) whether has seen before , (b) whether has solution. (for record, not yet ready accept "uninstall , reinstall robohelp" solution.)

i not clear on of 2 possible points going wrong.

1] fine in generating rh when change style of dropdown, things go wrong.

or, think more

2] changing template of generated document 1 prepared earlier , goes wrong. changing appearance of dropdown reason that?

if changing appearance of dropdown requirement, why not modify 1 of supplied templates? recommend style mapping solves many problems people come across. leave original supplied template unchanged , create copy such style mapping cz know modified copy.
