Artificial Intelligence- Virtual Assistant - Raspberry Pi Forums

so, few weeks ago, had idea code own virtual assistant (one works 1 pi board, , can access/open new instances of apps pi board). have not gone out of have learned number of sites of coding help, have yet come successful test (due outdated software pieces without current version).
so, result, have come here. asking if can recommend me recent, stable versions of software work python3.4. need advise installing i've found don't specify files need go, nor type enable program's commands.

know need speech recognition, text speech, , software make voice more realistic, wondering if there specific type considered better others ("type" meaning, example, pyttsx or espeak).

side note question (as might pop up) "why build one? can't buy one?" answer have found many people find of them not worth amount of money put in them.
