Announcing CiviCRM 1.6 Beta - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
we happy announce our 1.6 beta release available download. release includes powerful dynamic custom data features, along initial set of ‘desktop’ user interface features (using ajax technology).
specific highlights include:
* configure custom fields specific activity types, relationship types, etc.
* find contacts "as type" (suggestive search)
* show inline mousing on icons (unclutters many screens)
* find contacts created or modified w/in date range and/or user
* create customized batch update screens
* search open activities

new installations
if installing beta scratch, can use these installation instructions: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence//x/ixi
upgrading 1.5
if upgrading existing 1.5 site (working copy of site, of course), have provided database upgrade script. instructions upgrading here: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence//x/lxs
reporting issues , bugs
we forward getting feedback on release in coming days. bugs should reported via our bug tracking system (linked on bottom of every page). please select v1.6 in ‘fix for’ dropdown.
you need register user – ensures can follow-up on bug reports if necessary. updating beta tarballs regularly on next week or – , we'll announce major changes or fixes on forum.
we targeting final release in approximately 2 weeks.
