yeah; of design files can found attached board descriptions here: http://arduino.cc/en/main/boards
if you're looking @ making own pcb in kitchen, should @ "severino", or "single sided bare bones board" (http://www.instructables.com/id/single-sided-really-bare-bones-board-arduino-in-ea/ )
various companies offer kits (http://www.nkcelectronics.com/freeduino-usb-v2-complete-kit-with-arduino-uno-bootloader-and-uno-r3-headers_p_435.html ) or bare boards in varying levels of "compatibility" ( http://shop.evilmadscientist.com/productsmenu/partsmenu/183 http://moderndevice.com/product/bare-bones-board-bbb-kit/ ) be careful; require additional usb/serial cable or converter use.
honestly, you'd better off buying real, pre-made arduino first effort, , figuring out enough if diy second board, have more debugging steps fall on. the $20 might save building own (assuming have things etchant, solder, soldering irons, , don't send paying excessive postage gather parts), isn't worth it.
