CFMX7 Clusters and Load Balancing
i have cfmx 7 set in distributed cluster: 2 windows 2003/iis6 servers network load balancing serving 2 cfmx7 enterprise servers (on win2k) each set 4 identical cf instances. each instance clustered it's corresponding instance on other cf server.
we have set way redundancy , load balancing sake.
when first set in development environment worked great. we've since moved production environment and, in doing so, had change server's ip addresses and, thus, needed "rebuild" clusters. went off without hitch , looking through cf administrator instances running , clusters configured fine. however, load balancing , redundancy features no longer work! can browse our sites without issue, open cf server 1 , never clustered cf server 2 though cluster algorith set round robin. also, if shut down cf instance on cf server 1 expect request re-routed cf server 2, did in our development environment, no longer this. cf server 1 shut down, whe try pull our site "waiting mysite.com" in browser status bar , site never loads. start cf server 1 up, reload page , we're in business.
lastly, emphasize requests going 1 server, have google mini box indexes our sites periodically. if start machine crawling , watch windows task manager see cf server 1 getting hits while cf server 2 appears getting none...just sitting there system idle process @ 99%
what gives? why have stopped working?
one other thing, when changed ip addresses of servers , re-built instances, gave instances same names had given them in development. possible there kind of "named-based" config file wasn't updated , "invisibly" failing cluster because it's pointing wrong ip?
looking ideas here...
