Overprint: no more

here's used work:
overprinting objects -> save postscript -> open postscript in preview -> save pdf-x -> done: 100% yellow printed on 100% magenta resulted in nice bright red. it's os x 10.4.7, freehand mx 11.0.2 build 92, pdf printer 4.0, ppd file version 1.0

it isn't anymore , don't understand why. ps , pdfs ignore overprint. way work export eps , render in photoshop. thought might have done bad system , installed new system on disk result resembles old system.

any advice appreciated.

are using overprint command overprint inks on press,
or want nice, bright red display when pdf files viewed
on computer?

if producing pdf files professional printing,
recommend acrobat pro/distiller, , use distiller produce
your pdf files. give more control of kind of pdf
get, , separation preview tell if have set overprinting
as desired.

that said, set fhmx file overprint, printed postscript file
using adobe pdf 305.102 ppd. used preview convert postscript file
to pdf. overprinting not display in preview. overprinting
in same pdf file display in acrobat pro. not assume overprint
commands have been lost, because overprint not display in preview.

i'm not sure mean ppd file version 1.0. how have set
printer use ppd?

if complaining preview application not display
overprint, question apple, not fault of freehand.
