update: when go windows wireless drivers without in shows netrtuw hardware not present, restart in , shows present. when try install driver says driver installed. when try press configure network says cannot find network configuration tool.
thanks, paul

i advised run command 1susb
the command lsusb lowercase l instead of 1 (one). may post output of command here (you can mark output mouse , paste middle mouse button).

usb-adaptor seems recognized correctly ubuntu-system, guess drivers installed.

in gnome guess on right side of taskbar icon set network (including wireless, don't use gnome, can't tell can found, maybe have search little bit in apps or system menu).
install special tool wicd or wifi-radar manage wireless connections.

in case have know network-name (essid) , wireless key network , wether wireless network encrypted wep or wpa or wpa2.
these informations have know unless wireless network open , unencrypted, bad idea. (i guess don't want see police knocking on door because neighbour has downloaded latest hardcore children porn via wireless net.)
